It’s hard to believe it’s the middle of August already. Hubby starts school in just over a week, and we are already feeling the pull towards fall. I have really been savoring every moment of this summer. My intention was to spend lots of quality time with my boys, both together and separately, to get a few home projects done, and most importantly, to take it easy, soaking in sun, swimming, and naps whenever the opportunity allowed. Thankfully we have have been able to do all of that.
One of our favorite places to spend time this summer together has been “at the pond”. Between the new found independence of a puddler jumper, and the exciting addition of paddle boards, we have spent entire days floating, swimming, paddling, and just lazing about. It’s been a nice balance to the garage gutting, house re-organization, and room painting that’s been happening back at the home front. (More on all that later perhaps, I’ve been “nesting” pretty much since the day I got pregnant it seems).
So as these last few days of summer roll through, we’re going to keep right on doing what we have been doing. Eventually we will all start to prep and plan for fall. Hubs is lead teacher this year at his school, so he’ll have a little more of a work load. I’ll work a few afternoons at the Montessori after school program. And we’ll of course keep going with our co-op mornings. (This is also something I’ll talk more about soon). But life is too sweet right now to think about all that much. So, for now it’s still all about summer love.
